Mission Statement
We are a Trans and BIPOC-led 501(c)(3) grassroots nonprofit in the Sacramento, California region. We are dedicated to ending the pathologization of trans people and creating more equitable access to healthcare and resources through our programs, training, and direct services that prioritize the wellness and joy of Queer, Transgender, Black, Indigenous, People of Color (QTBIPOC).

We aim to flourish in the face of systemic oppression by enhancing access to healthcare services and resources, strengthening community care connections, and providing education and healing opportunities through our services. Our unwavering dedication lies in fostering radically hopeful, safer, and healthier futures for Two-Spirit, transgender, non-binary, and gender expansive people across all intersecting identities.

Our Services
Counseling

Our trans-liberatory, compassionate, and culturally humble counseling services are offered at low to no cost through our graduate student counseling training program.
Healthcare

Our trans-centered healthcare services include our free hormone clinic, mobile needle exchange program, PrEP prescriptions and HIV/STI healthcare, and harm reduction services.
Community Support

Our peer-led community support services program assists trans and non-binary people with legal name + gender marker change assistance, primary medical care provider guidance, mental health navigation, accompaniment, and community referrals.
Education & Training - Advocacy & Affirming Care

Our education and training consultation services help nonprofits, hospitals, school districts, corporations, and higher education institutions improve policies and care practices in serving diverse Two-Spirit, transgender, nonbinary, intersex, and gender-expansive people. We offer culturally responsive strategies and tools to help providers and educators create inclusive practices and policies that support people across gender and sexuality spectrums with an emphasis on serving Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Color (QTBIPOC).
The Gender Health Center is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs. The GHC maintains responsibility for all programs/courses and its content. Our programs train licensees to work alongside transgender and gender non-conforming clients in an ethical and clinically sound manner consistent with CAMFT’s Code of Ethics or their professional association’s Code of Ethics.
